Well said. If an outsider observed us, they'd say tech (as in software) was one of the most critical elements of our world. If you look at the flow of capital and other resources into tech, you'd agree with them: by those metrics, it is one of our most prioritized facets.
But in Q1 2020, when the ish hit the fan and humanity really needed help, tech did not come to our rescue. That said, I believe in tech's role in improving the human condition. I don't think the focus thus far fosters that. It's been on optimizing highly-developed life and not on how tech can help humanity in the most basic of ways.
